Excellent Phone Sent: 16 December 2008 Bought this phone from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and given it a good test. My main criteria was to have a good clear volume and this phone was execptional, it can be increase while you are talking. A good selection of ring tones, displays date and time. The ansermachine is very clear and it tells you the date and time of each message. The night time feature is handy it does away with nuisance calls at night, only lets the numbers that you program in to make contact. So I am very pleased with my purchase.
fab Sent: 13 December 2008 the best thing about this phone is the window. it's a quality item. you can clearly read what's on it.
other important details: yes, it has a shared addressbook that is easy to use. it's amazing that this feature is hard to find in DECT phones. what's more is that there is a MASSIVE 200-name addressbook. these days when people have several numbers each (home, work, moby, second moby, mistress etc) this feature is invaluable.
the tones ARE cheesy, but isn't that the thing? you're supposed to be annoyed enough by the ringing to pick up the phone quickly. the tones, incidentally include six ringers, chopin's impromptu in c-sharp minor, pachelbel's canon in d major, handel's "water music", tchaikovsky's "swan lake" (scene finale), paganini's caprice in a minor, "joy to the world" (also by handel), wagner's "ride of the valkyries" and other annoying tunes.
the phone DOES has a plasticky look and feel to it, but it's very sleek-looking. also, it FEELS quite light. however, it is also comfortable to use and seems robust enough.
sound quality is perfect and can't be faulted by me.
would i buy it again? unequivacably (that means yes).
very good Sent: 02 November 2008 very good phone and competivly priced.Ring tones could be better, but volume is acceptable for buisiness or home.stricking appearance with quality feel.Very good range on these phones. If you want a perfect cheaper phone then you wont go far wrong.Ive done all the homework for you as i did try the bt ones in this price range and to be honest for sound quality these cant be beat.
Very nice phone Sent: 17 October 2008 After reading many reviews on this phone I took a chance and bought them from Amazon. Amazons price was the best I could find. The phones have been installed for a week now and are first class, the sound quality is what you expect from a Panasonic product. They are simple to use once you get used to the different buttons. There is just one niggle and that is the green and red telephone keys do not illuminate, for the RRP of this phone I would have thought they should. I have had many phones in the past, these Panasonic phones are by far the best, I am happy that I bought them.
It's OK Sent: 04 October 2008 Been using about 6 months now
Always had Philips DECT sets before - but Panasonic seem to get rave reviews so i bought these as their latest model
- Looks a lot nicer than old Panas but not as nice as Philips
- Looks substantial but actually feels lot less substantial (quite plasticky)
- Colour screen is OK - but not all that - and includes just 4 boring wallpapers - no chance to import new ones
- 15 or so ringtones of which about 3 are usable - no chance to import new tones
- Address book is not shared automatically (unlike Philips) and you need to manually share any new entries
- Caller list only includes missed calls? - can't remember how to retreive last dialled but it is in there somewhere
+ handset is a decent size
++ big plus is that when you're already in a call, other handsets can join in the call just by picking it up, like a proper wired telephone you dont have to learn any secret handshakes
- 6 months in and the handsets have started making a very low 'chugging' sound like a steam train in the distance - it's very, very quiet but guaranteed to irritate & i had to remove them from my bedroom and computer room
- Overall I found them quite pedestrian (very boring) & will be going back to Philips
I find it quite strange how many features are crammed into my mobile (10th of the size) that are absent in DECT phones generally
