Great product Sent: 09 January 2009 I bought this having read the other reviews, but we don't seem to have any of the issues raised by other buyers. The display is clear and easy to read & personalise, the set-up is straightforward and the iPod Dock works really well. The DAB radio is as good as our other unit and it picks up all the stations I've looked for.
The sound's good too, given that this is a clock radio. Don't go expecting Bose-quality sound, but it's clear and crisp which is good enough for a bedroom.
Great radio with ipod dock Sent: 14 November 2008 We have this for nearly 12 months and have had no problems the alarm is great there are 4 of them great for if you work different shifts, if I have one gripe it is the remote which is great for basic functions but a pain when you want to select a preset, it is great as a bedside radio the sound quality is OK and the bass is a bit thin but what do you expect from a little unit that looks cool in black next to your bed and the iTouch looks cool except for the white docking cradle that you have to use.
Great product! Sent: 08 October 2008 I bought this as my bedside radio alaram clock and thought it would be worth noting a few points down here that people might miss out on......
1) Works perfectly with my iPhone 3G. Plays all the music on it and charges it. It also charges the iPhone when in Standby so you can stick your iPhone on it overnight to charge and take it off in the morning when you wake up.
2) You can choose which station to wake up to. You use your "presets" for this and when you set an alarm you tell the alarm which preset station to use. This means you can fall asleep to one station and wake up to another.
3) The small card shaped remote comes with a couple of magnetic stickers so you can stick it up somewhere (or even to the device itself)
4) You can choose the level of brightness when the unit is in standby. Your options are auto-dimming, timed (so you press a button to see the time) and permanently on where you can choose your brightness/contrast on a level from 1-10
Overall I'm very pleased with it and highly recommend it.
Very happy bar one issue Sent: 09 September 2008 I like everything about this item - it's perfect for me as a bedside radio+ipod player+alarm - but it has developed a fault and I'm unsure as to whether to return it as it works perfectly and I don't want to swap it for another unit with a potentially worse problem (as quite a few have been reported here).
My problem: the display sometimes shows and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't, a tap on the side of the unit will usually do the trick (sometimes immediately, sometimes after a little flickering) and that suggests it's a simple loose connection in there somewhere. Pity. Should I return it? .......
Poor time keeping and nasty aerial Sent: 17 August 2008 The good looks of this radio are spoilt by the scraggy bit of crumpled wire attached to like an afterthought that is meant to serve as an aerial. Apart from looking bad, you will have to find somewhere to attach the loose end of the aerial and it suffers from a poor DAB signal pick-up. Our old cheap and nasty DAB radio that this was meant to stylishly replace gets much better DAB tuning using a regular metal telescopic aerial.
But that only sets the scene for the worst part - the clock is totally dependent on the DAB signal to keep time. So if your DAB signal is lost, say goodbye to the time display and walking up to an alarm.
