Nice-n-easy Sent: 31 December 2008 This is a great remote control it works well with all my devices Samsung HD TV, Philips home cinema, JVC combo DVD-HDD-VHS player, and Cable TV. It has a learning button so if one of your devices has an extra unknown button it can easily learn its function, I can recommend this remote; don't even consider the more expensive remotes out there this one works and works very well.
excellent product - and easily set up for the technically challenged Sent: 07 November 2008 I bought this remote largely on the strength of the earlier reviews. I am not the most technically competent individual and was more than a little apprehensive about programming a new remote, and so attached importance to ease of set up.
It went without a hitch, although it took me longer than the 20 minutes reported by another reviewer - more like an hour - but much of that time was spent on trying to puzzle out the right designation for a combined freeview receiver and DVD player/recorder. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and I am delighted with the final result - it certainly is nice to have to use only one remote for everything; even my wife, who makes me look like a boffin, finds it reasonably easy to use.
The only thing that defeated me was trying to programme an old Bose CD player and tuner, but I shall have another go in due course.
Overall strongly recommended.
Great remote - especially for the money Sent: 06 November 2008 I bought this on the review on another website and I certainly haven't been disappointed. It was really easy to set up. My DVD and satelite box are big name brands so that was just a matter of entering the remote codes - about 20s work. My TV, CD player and Amp are little-known brands so there were no codes. However, it was a couple of minutes work to set up all the functions using the learning feature.
I particularly like the fact that, in both satelite and DVD modes the volume control still operates the TV. There are only two very small niggles that caused me to drop one star. Firstly, the TV guide button is very small and tucked away in the bottom left-hand corner. On most satelite/Digital receiver remotes this is one of the main buttons so it seems strange to tuck it away there. Also, the front panel overlaps the edge very slightly on mine meaning it can sometimes rub into the palm of my hand as I hold it.
Other than that, the general build-quality of feel are excellent and, for the money, it really is amazing!
All for one Remote Sent: 27 October 2008 I bought this as a replacement for my DVD remote which was damaged beyond repair. It works on my Panasonic Tv except for the guide button. It's fine for my DVD which is what it was bought for but it doesn't recognise my VCR which is a shame. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase.
Highly recommended item! Sent: 24 October 2008 It took me a while to decide to buy this. I had never had a universal remote before and I wasn't sure how well it would work, but my Sky remote was broken and my DVD recorder remote had dodgy buttons on it. This was the cheapest way to fix the two problems. Within ten minutes of popping the 4 AAA batteries in I had got it all programmed and working brilliantly! It comes with an extensive list of codes so you can easily make it work with your hardware and it can even learn extra commands from your existing remotes. It's also very easy to switch between devices that you want to operate.
The sheer amount of space I have saved through not having 5 remotes cluttering up my table is amazing and I don't have those 5 remotes running down batteries all at the same time anymore. I actually wish I'd bought one years ago!
