Very disappointing colour Sent: 05 January 2009 This was bought for me as a present this christmas, when we put pictures on the unit the colour resolution was very poor. We tried pictures taken on two other cameras and unsurprisingly found the same. Close ups appeared better than landscape photos, but it was all pretty poor The same memory card was put into a similar sized Kodak unit and were crisp with full colour definition, the unit has subsequently gone back to Amazon.
The unit was easy to use but just did not seem to give adaquate quality of pictures.
Lovin' the Blue Touch Sensitive Controls Sent: 24 September 2008 Loving the touch controls on this frame, which light up blue when your fingers come into contact with the frames control base. The image quality is good and I like the black shiny frame. It's a simple and elegant design which I like, and is definitely more suited to me than the 8 inch frame that nix make which seems more targeted at people who want every feature possible. This frame is definitely for people like me who want something that just displays my photos, yet is elegant and well designed.
There are extra features, like MP3 music playback, clock, calendar, auto power on/off. Personally I don't use most of these features, but they're there if you want them and I have to admit I haven't fully tested them, though no problems so far. Except I do use the auto power off, so now the frame always switches off at midnight in case I forget. I can mainly vouch that the light sensitive controls work nicely, the screen is of a high quality and the menu system is easy to use. I also like their approach to energy saving, in that most people don't realise that any power adapter left plugged into a live socket bleeds off a lot of wasted electricity, so the frame is switched off at the wall socket and this saves you on your electricity bill. I go for long periods of not using my frame, as I'm away a lot, and it's nice to know that I'm not paying anything on my electricity bill.
All in all a fantastic frame that does what I need it to do.
